Oceanside Surf Club Contest 2009

SAN DIEGO -- The Oceanside Club gathering is the next event coming up on the list of surf club organized events. The O'side gathering will hold three different contests South of the Oceanside Pier: GT Noseriding Pro, GT Open Longboard Pro, and the Coalition of Surf Club Contest.

Here is a note from the club's team captain, Gretchen Harris.  "I just wanted to give everyone a heads up about our event, we will be holding the 25th Annual OLSC Club contest on August 15-16, 2009 at the O'side Pier.  On Friday, August 14th we will be hold the 9th Annual Guy Takayama Pro Noseriding Contest and a Pro Open Contest. The finals will be held on Saturday August 15th in the morning, and checks will be given out at the dinner on Saturday evening at he O’side band shell. The purse for each event will be at least $3000.00.  I have attached the entries.  I will not hold spots, slots will be filled on a first pay basis, so fill out the form and mail it in to me.  We only have limited time and slots so get your entries in early.  Entry fees are $100.00 per division."

With the US Open not having a longbaord division this year, the Pro Open Contest at the O'side Pier will fill in some important shows. The annual gathering organized by the Oceanside Surf club has consistently seen great surf conditions, coupled with great weather and turnout. And in addition to the water activities, this rendezvous has a barrage of festivities on the beach, including musical performances, raffles, and industry booths. The popularity of the event tends to draw large crowds, so make sure to submit your entree before it's too late.
