Men Quarter Final. Fin first "noseride"? That's right. Billy Harris, representing Oceanside, pulled off a fin first "noseride" -- or should we say fin first "tailride"? And although the maneuver was the highlight of the heat, the other surfers also got to share in the spotlight. Antonio, representing La Jolla Shores, as well as some of the other surfers in the heat, still managed some nice noserides and floaters, despite of the poor conditions. (video)

Jr. Women Final. Knee-high and choppy, the perfect conditions to test one's style. And sure enough, these jr. women passed the test. They managed to keep their admirable feminine styles, even though the surf was barely ridable. Sarah and some of the others were even able to noseride despite of the undoubtedly challenging conditions. (video).

Behind the Scene. As it's usually the case in surf contests, one doesn't find entertainment only in the water. The activities out of the water tend to be a platter full of entertainment on their own merit. And during the PB Surf Club Late Summer Longboard Classic, this was no exception. There was a quite thrilling raffle, Hawaiian dance, the always fascinating surf crowd, and much more. (photos)

Sr. Women Final. Sr. Women? This title doesn't quite do justice to the energetic -- and, yes, quite talented -- group of women who got in the water during the "sr." women's final. Their poise and grace in and out of the water were an indispensable contribution to the success of the event. (photos)
