Diego, Ca., September 1, 2008 - - Clear Channel San Diego is announcing
a programming change. "DOWN THE LINE" surf talk radio, heard on XTRA
Sports 1360, will be moving to Sunday mornings at 7am. This exciting
time slot allows for the "DOWN THE LINE" to precede XTRAs Sunday
morning NFL coverage.
"This time slot move is unreal for DOWN THE LINE listeners," said show
creator and host Scott Bass. "It allows early rising surfers to hear
the goings on of the surf world and it leads right into Sunday
football. And who doesn't love the NFL, right?"
The programming change takes place September 7, 2008, the first week of
NFL. Of course you do not have to live in southern California to hear
DOWN THE LINE. Surfers across the US can listen live via XTRA's live
streaming internet feed by logging onto XTRAsports1360.com.
Furthermore, all of the shows are podcast via iTunes (keyword search:
"SURFER").
Each show is an informative, entertaining look at the world of surf
hosted by Scott Bass & Marty Thomas. Show segments include Top Five
Stories, Kook & Duke awards; Travishamockery of the Week; great
interviews, plus your phone call and emails. "Our show explores all the
stuff the magazines aren't allowed to talk about," explained Bass. "Of
course our interviews are top shelf, as we have access to notable
surfers, legends, and industry players. We've interviewed Laird,
Machado, Jordy (Smith), Greg Noll and many many others."
Scott and Marty will be hanging out at ASR in the XTRA Sports 1360
booth on Thursday September 4th across from Starbucks. Make sure to
stop by and say hello to the two gregarious and outgoing hosts (Team

DOWN THE LINE creator/producer/host Scott Bass grew up in Del Mar, CA.
He attended to Torrey Pines High School and graduated from Cal State
San Marcos. He now lives and surfs in the Encinitas area with his wife,
Katrina, and their two children. In addition to DOWN THE LINE, Scott
does freelance work as a writer and photographer for various
publications and is the Senior Online Editor-At-Large for SURFER
Magazine. Scott's editorial marketing company produces the SACRED CRAFT
Consumer Surfboard Expo and he is currently producing a documentary
film about surfers during the Vietnam War titled "Between The Lines."
Co-Host Marty Thomas grew up in Seal Beach, CA and he rode his first
wave at Cardiff Reef. Marty spent several years on Oahu’s North Shore
and he competed on the ASP World tour from 85’-97’. Marty is now a Sr.
Account Executive for SURFER Mag and resides in Carlsbad, CA with his
wife Shalom and their two kids. In addition to co-hosting DTL, Marty
has done live web casts for ASP tour events including the Pipeline
Masters.
