Australia's Bra Boys Invade US Theaters
Wednesday, 19 March 2008

bg_handshake.gifOn April 11, the award-winning, Australian documentary, Bra Boys, will premiere in select theaters in San Diego and across the US.

The film—narrated by none other than the Gladiator himself, Russell Crowe—focuses on the origins and growth of the Bra Boys, a group of Australian surfers from a rough Sydney suburb who have banded together to form what some have called a gang. Really, according to the Bra Boys, they are brothers, who came to rely on each other out of necessity in reaction to the violent gang activities that surrounded and threatened them.

Besides showing the tensions and (at times) violence between the Bra Boys and their rivals, the film features some of the world’s best big wave surfers, surfers who grew up within the Bra Boys community.
