Last
week, San Diegans witnessed yet another Wednesday with an
extraordinarily large swell. Naturally, the label 'Big Wednesday' has
once again been ubiquitously invoked by surfers and non-surfers alike
in reference to last week's waves. For some, the term simply depicts a
set of properties: Big swell and Wednesday. But for others, this
expression carries with it more than its descriptive character, it
rings a bell of superstition. For strangely enough, many of the
memorable large swells have swept the coast on the fourth day of the
week, Wednesday. Now whether superstitious or not, Mylocallineup has
put together a series of slideshows for you to experience the magic of
the day. For no matter where you stand, the large waves rolling under
the bright sun and offshore wind undoubtedly canvassed a site to
remember.
