About 100 people showed up, setting a record turnout for the newly open Paddle Surf Warehouse in Dana Point, CA.

Dana Point, CA – Sticky Bumps, a surf company well-know for its wax and other board-related supplies, has entered the stand up paddle (sup) market with a host of products, including even board bags. The company marked its debut into this new market at the My Local Lineup’s launch party for Stand Up Paddle TV, which was held in Dana Point, California, at the Paddle Surf Warehouse, a local sup shop known for its impressive selection of products and friendly customer service.

Sticky Bumps donated a brand new C4 Waterman stand up paddle board together with a mint Sticky Bumps board bag, turning the raffle into a highly ecstatic drawing of tickets. Also adding to the raffle lineup were prizes given by Stand Up Paddle TV sponsors, such as Boardworks SUP , Rusty SUP , Tahoe SUP , Victory Koredry , FCS SUP , Rogue SUP , and Paddle Surf Warehouse . Still other featured sponsors included Vitamin Blue, Guayaki Yerba Mate, Kings Paddle, and Taco Surf.

Among the many raffle contenders, there were quite a few sup notables, including Chuck Patterson, Thomas Maximus, Colin McPhillips, Dan Gavere, and Niki Gregg, to name a few. The Stand Up Paddle TV Party had about 100 people in attendance, setting a record turnout for the newly open Paddle Surf Warehouse in Dana Point.  Billy Ho, an avid stand up paddler from Southern California was the winner of Sticky Bump’s ultimate prize, taking home a brand new “stick” for his stand up paddle quiver.

Sticky Bumps’ sup product line will not be available until August 2010, but those attending the party had a sneak preview of what’s to come. Among the many goodies in the company’s new line, there is talk of a special stand up paddle wax, whose properties tailor to the features of the new sport, where the athlete is constantly standing on the board’s deck rather than transitioning from lying, sitting, and standing up as in regular surfing. Also part of the product offering is a board bag, designed specifically for the larger dimensions of sup boards. Stay tuned to Sticky Bumps’ website for the latest on the company’s sup product line.
