Four-time national longboarding champ and pro surfer Josh Mohr is releasing an independent surf film, More than Waves. More than Waves is a tale of self realization and rediscovering one’s passions.

As much about chasing the perfect waves as it is about a shared friendship, More than Waves chronicles the journey of Mohr and two of his friends, Nathan Byers and Chris Payne, as they attempt to rediscover what it is about surfing that had them hooked the first time they paddled out. Fulfilling a lifelong dream, Mohr and his crew seek to reconnect with each other and the culture that has played an essential role in shaping their lives.

“Surfing has always been my passion – it’s an escape, a form of self expression. And nothing really compares to the feeling of catching the perfect wave,” said pro surfer Josh Mohr. “But surfing is about much more than that – it’s about the camaraderie you share with fellow surfers, the feeling of the board beneath you and the quiet moments on the water before dawn. Every surfer has his or her story of why they became hooked on the sport; More than Waves is mine.”

More than Waves was filmed and produced in 2007 by Executive Producer Josh Mohr of Josh Mohr Enterprises. Directed by fellow surfer and California native Ben Barnick, More than Waves captures picturesque shots of California’s scenic coastline and dynamic surfing footage of Mohr and his crew – the perfect ingredients for a surf film classic. The soundtrack also includes several songs written by Mohr.

It might have a whole lot of emotional value for the three surfers who reconnect after sometime, but the poor surf and monstrous RV didn't quite do the job for me.
