| Tuesday, 16 June 2009 | |
![]() Dorian Paskowitz, the Californian surfer who is known for taking his family on a 25-year surfing voyage, entered the Gaza strip back in 2007 to handout some surfboards, planting the seeds for a growing surf community. Today, despite even of gunfire from Israeli boats, the Gazan surf community has already seen some growth, from 2 lone lifeguards to about 20 surfers.
Paskowitz, who is Jewish, crossed the ethinic lines into the Palestinian territory in an attempt to reach peace through the sport of surfing -- his organization is called 'Surfing for Peace .'
