in the 60's FLA's GP  did a SURFER tip i found very helpful , he said point your front arm where you want to go , the back arm is a counter balance , a pivit point on bottom turns , a hand brake on the wave face , lopez , reno a , are good examples of this from the past, top ASP pros are modern examples  ,, , the 70's  aussie point break guys  , pointed the arm but tended to wave it around a bit much for my taste ( MP influence )
